I chose Sleeping Beauty from a list of fairytales, inspired by my love for the Disney version. I focused on two iconic scenes: the three fairies preparing for Aurora's birthday and Prince Phillip battling Maleficent. In the fairy scene, I paid attention to small details like flour on the floor, scattered ribbons, and abundant cottage décor, aiming to capture the warm, chaotic, and comedic energy of the film. The fight scene posed a challenge in lighting and scale, where I wanted to evoke an epic, daunting atmosphere. Both scenes were a challenge in perspective and greatly contrasted from one another - offering a range of learning opportunities and creative freedom.
